Priority Three calls should be dispatched within forty-five (45) minutes of the time the call is received. If the beat officer is not available, and it is not likely that they will be available within forty-five minutes, the call should be assigned to the closest available officer.
Non-Emergency calls may be assigned to a Public Safety Assistant (PSA). If time does not permit the complainant to wait to be contacted by the PSA, the call taker will make an appointment for the complainant to be contacted a a specific time during the PSA duty hours. If none of these choices are possible, an officer will be dispatched following the guidelines mentioned above.
This guideline should be viewed as a desired result. It is recognized that there will be occasions when it may not be possible to follow this guideline exactly.
