Leaks

Pipe Line Responsibility
Leaks are responsible for more than 10% of wasted water. If you experience an unusually high water bill, you may have a leak. The City of Sherman Water Department is responsible for maintaining the service line leading to your home or business meter and the meter itself. The property owner is responsible for the service line behind the meter and the rest of the property's plumbing.

Correct a Leak
If there is a leak in your home's plumbing, your bill may be adjusted if you have the leak corrected. Certain conditions apply for a credit to be made to your account. Please contact Utility Billing at 903-892-7237.

Leak Response Time

All leaks are a priority; however, leaks posing a potential threat to health and safety are handled as emergencies and receive priority response. Other leaks are repaired based on the size of leak or amount of water loss, some customers may experience longer response times. Main breaks have priority over leaks.

Report a Leak
You can report leaks 24 hours a day, seven days a week (including holidays) by contacting our 24-hour Customer Service line at 903-892-7258.
