Friends of the Sherman Public Library

Paula Poundstone Public Service Announcement for the Friends of the Library USA

Services & Activities

The Friends of the Sherman Public Library was chartered by a group of involved citizens interested in helping to expand and improve the services and facilities of the Library. Library programs such as Authorfest, Trick or Treat Village, the Summer Reading Club and Travel Video Brown Bag Lunches, would not be possible without the support of the Friends. Book sales are held in April and September to raise funds for library programming and supplies.  Visit the Friends Facebook page for upcoming events: http://www.facebook.com/FriendsOfTheShermanPublicLibrary

Book Review Luncheons

The Friends of the Sherman Public Library sponsor six Book Review Luncheons each year, three in spring and three in fall. The presentation may be focused around a single book or an entire subject. The luncheons are held the first Wednesday of the month at 11:45am in March, April, May, October, November, and December. Lunch is provided by the Friends and there is no charge to attend. Reservations are required and donations are welcome. Please visit the calendar to find out details of upcoming events.

Book Sales

The Friends of the Sherman Public Library hold their twice-yearly book sale in the spring and in the fall to raise funds for the library. The sale is held at 1000 N. East Street in Sherman, and that address is also the drop-off location for those wishing to donate books for the sale (a drop-off box is provided so that donations can be made at any time).
