Bill Explanation

**Effective December 2017, utility bills include a Stormwater Fee. For detailed information about the program and calculation of the fee, please see Stormwater Utility Program.**

 Below you will find an explanation of each item on your utility bill. When making a payment, please make the check or money order payable to the "City of Sherman." Be sure to include your account number with your payment. Also, keep the top portion of the statement for your records and return the bottom portion with your payment.

1. Customer Account Number
2. Meter readings and billed usage
3. Total current charges
4. Balance forward (this amount is past due and must be paid immediately to avoid interruption in service)
5. Total amount due by the due date (any balance forward amount is due immediately)
6. Payments not received by the due date will incur a 10% late fee
7. Graph comparing usage to previous year
8. Special city-wide messages or notices
9. Information related to your utility bill or services
10. Payment coupon to be submitted with payment
