Sherman Fire-Rescue operates four fire stations, three engine companies, four Mobile Intensive Care Units (MICU), one truck company, 2 Brush Trucks and a Battalion vehicle. The Department is staffed with 94 certified firefighters, one fire chief and two administrative assistants. Of the 94 certified firefighters, 16 are emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and 69 are paramedics. 



Service Calls


The Department responds to approximately 8500 calls for service per year. Of those calls, about 70% are medical calls, 20% are fire related and 10% are other calls which are considered public service calls, false alarms, hazardous materials incidents and moving vehicle accidents (MVAs).

   

Sherman Fire-Rescue provides fire, rescue and emergency medical services to the City of Sherman as well as contracted portions of Grayson County. All four of our fire stations are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Stations are strategically located throughout the city.
