Drainage Study

New Flood Study
In December 2002, Sherman City Councilors adopted a new flood study, performed by Kimley - Horn Engineers in cooperation with City Engineering Department staff.

Comprehensive Study
The comprehensive study has two major components: the Drainage Plan and the Drainage Design Manual. These tools will help the city manage its floodplain areas as growth continues and provides uniform drainage design requirements for developers by providing standards such as drainage pipe dimensions and placement to manage storm water runoff. Copies of the manual may be purchased in the City Clerk’s Office for $25 plus tax or downloaded here.  Storm Drainage Design Manual
