Children's Programs for the Fall
Welcome! Find out all about the Children Programs at the Sherman Public Library. We hope you and your children will enjoy what we offer! Baby and Me Story Time
Every Monday starting September 11 to November 13th from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for babies, birth to sturdy walkers, around 18 months, and a caregiver. We will be located in the MLK Building (1003 N. East Street) right across the street from the temporary library (1000 N. East Street).
Enjoy a sweet time with your baby! Baby and Me offers your child and you a lot of time for cuddling, singing, and rhyming. Everything we do is designed for our youngest learners and you!
Sherman Library Story Time
Every Tuesday and Wednesday starting September 5th to November 15th from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. for children ages 18 months to 5 years old and a caregiver.

Our Storytime is full of books, music, puppets and fingerplays. Kids earn a new paperback every 4th week. Older and younger children are welcome to attend; however, the free books are reserved for children ages 18 months-5 years old.
Young Readers: Garden Adventure
Every Monday starting August 28 to November 13th from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Young Readers is an afternoon program is for elementary aged children. This season is a garden adventure. We will improve our literacy skills while also learning about gardening as we take care of our very own garden. The planting of the garden will be Saturday, Aug. 26 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Find out more about the Planting Day below under "Special Events." Register at the library for the planting day!
Preteen ReadsEvery other Thursday, 4 p.m.-4:45 p.m. in the Glennie O. Ham Community Center (1002 N. Music Street). Dates: September 14 & 28, October 12 & 26, November 9, and December 7,
Love to talk about stories you can't get out of your head? Want to hear about some new ones? Come join our book club,
Pre-teen Reads, just for kids ages 9-12! Bring the books you have been reading and we will all talk about them. Snacks and activities are included.
Children's Planting Day at the LibrarySaturday, August 26th, 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Meet at the MLK Building (1003 N. East Street) across from the temporary library.
Come and plant with the library at Children's Planting Day! The library is starting a vegetable garden. Come to the library Saturday, August 26th to learn about gardening and how to plant a vegetable garden! Our Young Readers Group (for school-aged children, ages 6 and up) will be taking care of the garden this Fall, but the whole family is welcome to the planting day, full of learning activities and of course starting the garden! We will need a headcount, so to register, call the library at 903-892-7240, or email Ms. Allie at email@example.com You can sign-up at the Service Desk in the Children's area as well.

A Bookmark in Oz: for ages 9 and up
Come and learn about the book behind the stage performance. Get a behind-the-scenes look from some of the cast and crew of Theatricks on how they are bringing the story to life. Learn about the author, the timely relevance of when the book was published, as well as have a fun day in Oz!
To reserve your spot, call the library (903-892-7240) and ask for Ms. Allie Barton or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Every person that registers gets their own copy of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz as their "ticket" to this fun event. For ages 9 and up.

Saturday, December 9th, 3:00 pm at the MLK Building (1003 N. East Street) across from the temporary library.
Young children and their families are invited to enjoy Christmas holiday picture books, songs, crafts, and more at the Christmas Afternoon Story time!
Winter Afternoon Story Time
Wednesday, December 20th 3 p.m. at the MLK Building (1003 N. East Street) across from the temporary library.
Children ages 3-6 years old are invited with their caregivers and siblings to a special afternoon story time! We will hear stories about Winter and snow, eat some snacks, and make a simple seasonal craft! We hope you'll make time to chill out during the busy season and come to our Winter Afternoon Story Time. If your child has food allergies, please let Ms. Allie know a week before.
